The Krobos want Nana Addo to denounce Agya Koo’s comments which they have termed tribal and unacceptable
There was massive demonstration by the Krobos yesterday, against New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Flagbearer Nana Addo. The emo was stage in protest against some comments made by ace Kumawood star Agya Koo about the tribe. The protesters were demanding Nana Addo’s position on the tribal comments made by the movie star who has endorsed his candidature.

According to them, whilst playing a role in a movie, Agya Koo described Krobos as people cursed by a dreaded Akuapem fetish priest to forever remain prostitutes. The angered residents now want Nana Addo to condemn Agya Koo’s comments. The demonstration began when the NPP presidential candidate arrived the Eastern region, his home region, to campaign.
The group who presented a petition to their chiefs, the Krobo traditional council, asked them to forward their petition to Nana Addo and also demand an apology when he calls on them.

Kofi Adu popularly called Agya Koo and some Kumawood actors publicly endorsed the candidature of the NPP Flagbearer ahead of the December elections. The renowned actor held a press conference alongside his colleagues to announce their endorsement of Nana Addo.
The conference culminated to the emergence of Agenda 57% campaign, aimed at helping the NPP presidential hopeful get 57% votes to win the December polls. Agya Koo’s unflinching support for Nana Addo has caused a massive demand among the Krobos, for the NPP flagbearer’s position on the actor’s tribal comments.
Morover, the Krobo protesters were angered by a recommendation by NPP Abuakwa South MP, Samuel Atta Akyea, that Eastern Region University be situated on Akyem land and not Trom, a suburb of Somanya. The MP believed that Akyems deserved the public university due to their large population. But the protesters say the comments demeaned the people of Krobo.
