Deputy Director of Communication for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has said though the party’s Delta Force acted unlawfully, the NPP still stands by them.
According to Yaw Adomako Baafi, the party’s vigilante group took their action “out of the desire to demand recognition for their service to the party, though there were excesses.”
Adomako Baafi was speaking to host of Abusua Nkommo, Kwame Adinkrah in response to claims by Peter Boamah Otukonor that Kennedy Agyapong is a self-acclaimed sponsor of terrorism acts by the Delta Force of the NPP.
But Adomako Baafi said, “Kwame I agree our boys took things to the extreme limits, but I will never forsake them.”
“The party appreciates and still recognizes their contribution to our victory in the elections…But for these boys, we wouldn’t have won the elections.”
“Today the NDC claims to be law abiding than we in the NPP…We haven’t forgotten how they unleashed violence against innocent people and even we in the NPP when they were in government,” he observed.
“Kwame do you remember how Collins Dauda’s brother confessed to killing people on a regular basis,” he asked.
“I remember how an NDC boy attacked and robbed Chairman Wontumi’s bodyguard all because he had political power backing him.”
“So I don’t think it is the NDC’s place to accuse us of being violent because they are more violent than any political group in this country,” he said.
