A day old baby boy delivered in a maternity home at the Atebubu-Amantin District of the Brong Ahafo region has mysteriously gone missing Wednesday morning.
Adom News’ Kwabena Manu who has been following the story said, the 20-year-old mother, Grace Kuma who is yet to come to terms with the reality, has for the past hours remained grief-stricken.
The distraught mother said she had been in labour for days earlier before she was referred to the facility until she was delivered of a bouncy baby boy.
Few hours after delivery, husband of the victim, Peter Boakye was said to have rushed to town to buy food for the wife who was still on admission.
After drinking the tea which was prepared outside, Grace said she and her sister fell asleep only to wake up around 2am to find out that the baby had gone missing.
“After delivery the midwife brought my baby and I into a different room where we can rest. My sister was also with me and so my husband went to prepare tea for us and he left. We fell asleep only to wake up and realized that my baby was missing” she cried.
Grace said the family searched round the hospital but there was no sign of the baby resulting in the matter being reported to the Atebubu police for further investigations.
