As the impasse between Shatta Wale and Charter House continues some of Ghana’s artistes have come out in favor of Shatta Wale.
With the battle lines drawn and neither party willing to budge, artiste like Criss Waddle of R2bees (Ayi Ayi) believe it is time that Ghanaian musicians stand up to what they perceive as less than desirable treatment by some corporate institutions and organizers of shows Ghana.
Criss Waddle released a youtube video to show his unqualified support for Ghana’s dance hall king Shatta Wale.
In the video, Criss Waddle asserts that Ghanaian musicians are grossly underpaid when they perform at shows, including ones in which they share the same stage with foreign artistes.
Criss calls for fair treatment of the Ghanaian musician who has paid his dues on the long road to stardom.
He also makes reference to the Adjeii video by R2bees ft Sarkodie and Nana Boroo that was censured and precluded from being nominated for an award in 2012, despite its massive popularity and airplay.
We at The Accra Report eagerly await the resolution of this unfortunate situation that has become a blight to a burgeoning music industry.
