The culprit allegedly stated that former Prez Mahama would fall down during [email protected] parade
An Accra Circuit Court has struck out the case of Kwame Gyebi, a man who allegedly stated that former President John Dramani Mahama will “fall down” during last year’s Independence Day Parade.
When the matter was called, prosecution and accused person were not in court.
The court presided over by Mr Aboagye Tandoh therefore struck out the matter for want of prosecution.
Gyebi 33, who is being held on charges of threat of death and offensive conduct, on a number of occasions failed to turn up in court.
The Prosecution Deputy Superintendent of Police George Amegah sought for a bench warrant for his arrest. However at Tuesday’s sitting both prosecution and accused were not prsent in court.
Gyebi pleaded not guilty and he was granted bail by the court.
Gyebi is alleged to have made the comment at a drinking spot at Dzworwulu, in Accra, and this was witnessed by some people.
He was said to have boasted that he knew what he was referring to and dared anyone to mark his words.
The matter was reported to the Airport Police and was subsequently put before Court on March 1, last year.
