The 13 Delta Force members who interrupted the court’s proceedings have been fined
Each member of the 13 Delta Force members who appeared before the Kumasi Circuit court has been fined an amount of GHC.2,400 for escaping from lawful custody.
Additionally, the suspects have been made to sign a bond of good behavior for six months failure for which will attract a 3-year jail term.
They have also been remanded for two weeks and will be reappear in court on April 20.
The 13 invaded the court and freed their colleagues who were facing charges for allegedly assaulting the Ashanti regional security coordinator.
Eight other members of the group who aided their release from the court room were remanded into Police custody by the Kumasi Circuit court on Monday, amidst heavy security presence at the court.
Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo in his first public comment on the matter said “systemic” measures have been put in place to stem the menace of vigilantism in the country.
