Contractors working on the Kwame Nkrumah Circle interchange are expecting President John Mahama on Friday to brief him on the progress of work so far and to ask for additional one month to complete the project.
The €76 million project was scheduled to have been completed by the middle of this month (October) but contractors working on the interchange say unplanned occurrences such as rains pushed the planned date of completion forward.
The Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange being constructed by Queiroz Galvao Construction firm was expected to be fully opened to traffic by middle of this month.
Works that link Akasanoma Road to the Nsawam Road, around the Vodafone building, and the other one, which links the Nsawam Road to the Nkrumah Avenue, around the Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) building, are expected to be completed in order to allow President John Dramani Mahama inaugurate the interchange.
It would be recalled that Mr Mahama on August 7, 2015, opened two of the three routes of the interchange, to traffic.
