Beaches along coastal areas in Accra and other parts of the country have been engulfed in filth due to poor sanitary practices of indigenes.
Residents of coastal areas like Chorkor, James Town, Bortianor, Tsokomey, Ada and others have had to deal with challenges such as coastal flooding, pollution and most predominantly poor sanitary conditions over the years.
Among the issues raised above, poor sanitation is the one created through human activities and mostly by the natives themselves; and this menace is growing at an alarming rate.
It is common to find coastal residents dispose off all manner of waste in the most unsightly ways; with open defecation being a common practice.
As a result, beaches that are meant to serve as recreational or tourist sites have turned into rubbish dumps.
