Black Stars coach Avram Grant has released his final list of 23 player-squad to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, starting on January 14. The Israeli coach on Wednesday, handed in the final list of players to the FA which was submitted to CAF, according to the tournament rules.
Per the tournament rules, participating countries are to submit their final squad for the tournament, 10 days to the start of the competition.

Missing out from the Black Stars AFCON 2017 squad are Lorient striker Abdul Majeed Waris, teenage striking sensation Raphael Dwamena and Joseph Attamah.
Schalke 04 forward Bernard Tekpetey and AIK Stockholm midfielder Ebenezer Ofori, will all make their first ever appearance at the AFCON, having made it into Coach Avram Grant’s final squad for the tournament.
Ghana, who finished as runners up at the last edition of the AFCON, have been drawn in a tough Group D along with Egypt, Uganda and Mali in the January 14 – February 5 tournament.

Grant and his initial 26 man squad team are currently on an 11-day training in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where they are scheduled to play two preparatory games before moving to Gabon for the AFCON tournament.
