A 50-year-old bar operator at Awutu Breku in the Central region, Isaac Akufu, has been butchered by a Chinese national for allegedly failing to settle his debts after purchasing a gambling machine.
According to victim, the Chinese man who owned the machine claimed he had squandered his money thus unleashed thugs on him.
Isaac Akufu in an interview with Adom News’ Kofi Adjei said the foreigner wanted to take some of the alcoholic beverages from his shop but when he refused, the Chinese man together with other accomplices assaulted him and inflicted knife wounds on him.
“The Chinese man came here and accused me of spending his money. He told me the money I gave him for the gambling machine was not up to the amount.
He threatened to take some of the liquor out of my shop but I refused and he and his men butchered me and run away”.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at the Breku health center.
Isaac Akufu said the Chinese man whose name is still unknown fled the scene with his accomplices in a salon vehicle with a registration number GT 8725 -15.
The matter he said has been reported to the Awutu Breku police who have begun investigations into the matter.
