Deputy General Secretary, Koku Anyidoho has described as an insult a survey by a democratic think-tank that found the party topping parties cited for vote buying.
According to him ,the report which said government has been offering drinks and foodstuff to electorates for a second term bid is an insult to the intelligence of Ghanaians.
In a pre-election survey report, the CDD found the NDC of leading political parties in vote buying ahead of the 2016 general election.
About 51 percent of Ghanaians who took part in the survey said the John-Mahama government has been offering gifts in exchange for their votes.
The NDC figure is 19 percent higher than the percentage recorded by the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) which recorded 32 percent.
The report also said, the parties use mostly cash, alcohol and clothing to buy votes.
But Koku Anyidoho on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday said the CDD is just doing the bidden of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). “We are not bothered about the survey of the CDD; they are just working to save a sinking NPP” he stressed.
The NDC deputy scribe maintained that, there is nothing wrong with a political party giving out to its loyal supporters since even the Bible says” there is more blessing in giving than receiving”.
Koku Anyidoho said they NPP tainted survey by the CDD will in no way affect their electioneering campaign aimed at getting President John Mahama retained in power.
