A 26-year-old carpenter in the Ashanti region is appealing for support to pay the school fees of his girlfriend.
According to Prince Addo, the education of his wife to be who is currently in one of the teacher training colleges in the country hangs in the balance due to his inability to pay the fees.
The distraught man who said funding the education of his girlfriend is now a major challenge stormed the studio of Kumasi-based Nhyira FM to express his concerns.
Prince Addo in an interview with Obra show host, Naa Amerley claimed he has to use to money he had set aside for the lady’s dowry to pay for her admission fees.
‘I had saved for our marriage but when she gained admission to the training college, I decided to use the money to pay for the fees” he added.
The carpenter revealed that, so far he has spent GH¢3500 on his girlfriend’s education and gives her GH¢100 as pocket money but will not be able to continue to pay for the other semesters because he is cash trapped.
Prince Addo who has no formal education is therefore appealing to individuals and corporate bodies to come to his aid to enable his girlfriend complete her education.
When reached for comment, the young lady pledged her unflinching love for her carpenter boyfriend whom she said has sacrificed a lot to see her through school.
“I lost my father after school and life was very difficult for my mother and I but when I met carpenter, my life has turned around” she stated.
Ama [pseudo name] said dumping ‘illiterate’ Prince the carpenter after school is the thing on her mind because “he has done a lot for me”.
