The Member of Parliament (MP) for Bosomtwe Simon Osei Mensah has admonished stalwarts in the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to work assiduously for the party to win power and desist from seeking for personal positions.
He believes some of the party stalwarts are only seeking their selfish interest and not that of the party, saying lobbying for positions at this time is wrong.
The MP urged them to campaign for the party and its Flagbearer Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo to be voted into power than yearning for positions.
The MP who wrote on his Facebook page advised his party colleagues to campaign for power devoid of gossip, backbiting, name calling and selfishness.
‘The suffering of Ghanaians under the current poor economic conditions must be our main concern and we cannot solve them without controlling the political power of the country. When you campaign for power you work as a team with each brightening his/her corner through hardwork,’ he urged.
Read his full statement:
Patriots, let’s campaign for Power and not for Positions. We should seek yee first political power and all related positions shall be added unto thee.
Without political power we cannot have the positions that will enable us implement the good policies of the Party and Flagbearer.
The suffering of Ghanaians under the current poor economic conditions must be our main concern and we cannot solve them without controlling the political power of the country. When you campaign for power you work as a team with each brightening his/her corner through hardwork.
You avoid following the Presidential candidate and his Running Mate, except where you are needed to do business with them. Campaigning for power is devoid of gossiping, backbiting, name calling and selfishness.
It involves correcting each other whenever there is a mistake. You become each others keeper. You recognise yourself as having a common purpose and destiny.
Campaigning for position, however, involves always trying to catch the Presidential Candidate’s eyes, gossiping, backbiting, name calling and always wishing others to fail for you only to succeed. This attitude is not productive since it doesn’t encourage team work and unity of purpose.
Once we don’t have political power those positions will elude us and we will not have the opportunity to implement our good policies to save our people from the socio-economic difficulties resulting from eight years of incompetence, mismanagement and corruption. Please, note finally that – “You seek first political power and all other relevant positions that will enable you perform effectively and efficiently shall be added unto you”.
On the other hand if you seek first political positions you are likely not to have it since you may not get the power and ultimately you will lose the opportunity to serve and save the suffering poor masses.
With the few days left to the elections let’s go to every home, work place and community to campaign for power, for the majority poor and vulnerable Ghanaians are suffering under the overwhelming economic difficulties.
Work and vote for change!!!
Long Live Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo!!!
Long Live NPP!!! Long Live Ghana!!!
