Ghana’s CAF Confederation Cup representative, Bechem United made a total sum of GHC 3000($750) from their confederations cup game against Algerian Club MC Alger over the weekend.
The ‘Hunters’ who are making their maiden appearance at the CAF competition defeated the Algerians 2-1 in an almost empty stadium.
The club generated 3,000 as gate proceeds but after deductions, the club made only GHC 1,900($441) from the game which could affect their return leg according to Kingsley Osei Bonsu the Chairman of the club.
“Our expenditure for the game supersedes the income and don’t forget we pre-financed the game waiting for the cash from the Ghana FA for our return leg in Algiers”, he told Starr Sports.
Bechem United are likely to depart Ghana on Friday for the return encounter.
