Managers of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) service have begun training drivers who will take charge of the bus on roads.
The mass education according to the System Monitoring Assistance of BRT system, Emmanuel Bosu, is to enable them train the drivers on how to use the system to facilitate non-obstructive communication between them and passengers.
The education comes a day after the managers suspended operations after the buses were put on the streets for piloting.
This follows concerns over the non-registration and lack of insurance of the buses and challenges with communication between passengers and the bus drivers.
The BRT transport service commenced test operations on Monday with 9 buses plying the Amasaman – Achimota – Circle –Accra route however operators identified challenges with the log system which provided information such as when or where passengers would alight to drivers.
On the first day of the five-day trial, patrons of the service were offered free rides on one of the four routes earmarked for the program, on nine 40-seater air-conditioned buses fitted with USB ports and Wi-Fi services.
The trial was supposed to have started from 27th September to 30th September.
