President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has replied his critics over the size of his government.
According to him, “it is better to have men and women capable of serving the nation’s interests and to work to grow the economy”.
The president stirred public criticism following the announcement of his deputy ministers last Wednesday, March 15.
The number of deputy ministers plus four additional ministers announced brought the total number of ministers to serve in the government of President Akufo-Addo to 110, a number that is the highest in the Fourth Republic.
Taking to his official Twitter page – apparently from an interview with Daily Graphic and GTV – on Friday, March 17, the president described the criticisms as “brouhaha”.
“If I succeed, you will soon find out the brouhaha is nothing compared to the success,” he tweeted.

Reactions to the number of ministers have been mixed. While some have supported the president based on his targets, others have descended heavily on him, arguing that the economy cannot afford such a huge number of appointees.
