Hugo Broos has been summoned by the Federation of Cameroonian Football (FECAFOOT) and the sports ministry of Cameroon over links to the vacant coaching job in Ghana.
Broos is one of the three coaches who underwent interview over the weekend for the next coach of the Black Stars.
He was interviewed via Skype by the six-member panel tasked to get a qualified person to occupy the position.
But passes made by the Belgian at the Ghana job have not gone down well with FECAFOOT, which had initially invited Broos over comments made about the indomitable Lions’ preparations towards their 1-2 loss to Guinea.
The 2017 Africa Cup of Nations-winning coach is said to have vented his anger after the match and blamed his side’s performance on “poor preparations”.
He had also threatened to quit, an action which forced FECAFOOT to launch an immediate inquiry into the team’s preparations ahead of the friendly on March 28.
But the focus has been shifted to vast media reports that he is in line to be appointed Ghana coach.
Broos, 64, will appear before officials on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the six-member search team is reported to have penned down Kwesi Appiah for consideration by the Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) as Avram Grant’s replacement.
The Committee is expected to meet on Tuesday, April 4 to decide on the recommendation.
