A facebook account purported to belong to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Bolgatanga central constituency Isaac Adongo has been used to defraud some persons seeking to be recruited to the Ghana Immigration Service.
The account which bears the image of the MP and his name takes between GH¢500 and GH¢1,000 which paid is through someone which the account holder claims is the supposed personal secretary to the lawmaker with the promise of securing them protocol slots in the enlistment.
Several persons claim they have fallen victim to the said scam but the MP has explicitly denied knowledge and stated on his stated on official facebook account as follows:
“It has come to my attention that an imposter using an account name Hon. Isaac Adongo purporting to be me is defrauding unsuspecting people on Facebook.
He has variously duped people with the promise of employment with immigration service.
Please note that this is a criminal who has to be arrested. I am not the said Hon.
Isaac Adongo and do not know the one behind this criminal account. Please share this information to save others from falling victim.
My interaction with that criminal is as follows…I called the number in the screen shot bellow and he asked me to send GH¢500.00 for the protocol form. I told him he’s a criminal and that I will make sure he’s exposed”
