Bolgatanga All Stars have become the first club from the Upper East Region to make it to the elite division.
The Stars of the East made it to the Ghana Premier League after a 2-0 win over Utrecht FC in Tamale on Sunday.
It was the final Zone 1 game.
Bolga All Stars, as a result of the feat, join Elmina Sharks and Great Olympics as qualifiers for the 2016/2017 Premier League.
They qualify at the expense of Mighty Royals, which placed 2nd ahead of notable and established sides like Real Tamale United (RTU), Berekum Arsenal, Tano Bofoakwa and BA United.
Coincidentally, Bolga All Stars join a league won for the first time by their Upper West counterparts Wa All Stars.
