A blind man in his mid thirties is in the grips of the police for allegedly stabbing his wife multiple times during an argument on Sunday night, January 29, 2017 at Worawora in the Volta Region.
The suspect, whose name was only given as Bobbie, assaulted his wife, Esinam Tsekpa, for misplacing items and his Gh¢50.
After the argument, the victim packed out of her matrimonial home.
Narrating the incident to Adom News, Head of Worawora Unit Committee, Kwabena Dede, said the woman went to stay with her sister called Mama Tsekpa until the issues were resolved.
However, Bobbie arranged with his friend, Yaw Mintah, to lure his wife out of her sister’s house for them to resolve the issue amicably.
So around midnight Sunday, Mintah went to the house, called out Esinam whiles Bobbie was hiding behind him.
“Immediately Esinam opened the door, Yaw Mintah moved away and gave blind Bobbie access to push her down and stab her eight times,” he added.
Kwabena Dede said the lady begun screaming which drew the attention of residents who came to her rescue.
The blind man, Bobbie escaped from the scene but was apprehended by a vigilante group in the area and handed over to the Worawora police.
The victim, Esinam, has been transferred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for further treatment.
Meanwhile, sister of the victim, Mama Tsekpa, has expressed shock at the conduct of Bobbie over just GHS50.
