The Kwesimintim Police in the Western Region have mounted a search for a driver who knocked down five persons, killing two instantly.
The driver, identified as Dela Affum reportedly run his Mitsubishi Pick into a stationary taxi, killing two children who had stopped the taxi together with their mother.
The pick-up then somersaulted and rammed into a nearby shop, injuring the occupants of the shop in the process.
The incident, according to Joy FM’s Western Region correspondent Kobina Whajah happened close to the Nkroful Appolo bypass, Sunday afternoon.
The deceased persons, Samuel Donkoh, 8, and Kelvin Arthur, 12, have been sent to the Effiankwanta hospital morgue whilst the injured are receiving treatment.
The driver was said to have accompanied the injured persons to the hospital but bolted before the police came to the hospital.
The Kwesimintim Police have promised to track him down.
