Bike-sharing is gaining popularity and developing fast in many Chinese cities, particularly among young city-dwellers. Now, an upgraded service provides more convenience for bike users. It is a bike-sharing network where people can rent a bike by using his or her smart phone to scan the Quick Response (QR) code on the bike docking station and finish related rental procedures according to an audio prompt. The facilities have attracted the attention of many people since they appeared in Changde, Hunan Province, in early November. The local government plans to build a total of 156 such bike docking areas this year to meet the need of bike users.
