Ransford Obeng has opined that, Ghana does not necessarily need a Christian to govern the nation, but one who seeks to develop the country economically.
The Founder and Leader of the Calvary Charismatic Church, was speaking to Citi News ahead of Prophet Eastwood Anaba’s visit to his church this weekend.
He explained that “When you go to India, India has a big large population. Most of them, you go there, they don’t even worship God. And yet, they are progressing. Go to Japan, Japan is not a Christian country, so it means that the people that pray to God in Ghana are more than the people that pray to God in Japan.”
“The question that someone is Christian, someone is not a Christian, does not come in to play at all, because this is what a lot of Christians do… we need someone who will manage our economy. Whether he is a Muslim, whether he is a Hindu, whether he is this or that, if he can manage the economy, full stop! That is the reason why we vote for a President, to manage our resources for us,” he added.
Mr. Ransford Obeng noted that, although he would not lure church members into voting for a particular candidate, he admonishes them to “look into your own economic life. And then when you look into it, listen to the messages the political people are saying, and the person you know can manage our economy, vote for him.”
He emphasized that “any political leader who will not give jobs to my people, who will not create jobs, and people are suffering and they can’t give offering, I am not for you, its full stop.”
He again advised ministers of the gospel to desist from raising anxiety among Ghanaians ahead of the election.
