A Local Government Expert, Issaka Amon Kotei has questioned the practicality of President Akufo-Addo’s proposed Ministry for Inner City and Zongo Development.
According to him, Minister designate Alhaji Abubakar Saddique is still struggling to explain his job description to Ghanaians.
The President created the Ministry for Inner City and Zongo Development, which he said will help meet the challenges of the social development of the Zongos.
Some Ghanaians have however expressed divergent views about the new ministry since its announcement by the President.
Speaking to Samuel Eshun on the Gold Power Drive Tuesday, Mr. Amon Kotei said after listening to the Alhaji Abubakar Saddique in an interview Monday, it is clear that the minister-designate does not know his job.
The Minister-designate in the said interview disclosed he would collaborate with the other ministries to develop a concept to avoid antagonism with other ministries. This Mr. Amon Kotei said will be problematic because the current local government system would have to be reviewed in order for the new proposal to be implemented.
The Local Government Expert, Issaka Amon Kotei, is therefore imploring the appointment committee in Parliament to ensure that the Minister –designate explains his job description.
