Running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamadu Bawumia and his wife have cast their votes at the Kperiga Presby Junior High School (JHS) polling station ‘A’ in Wale Wale constituency just few moments ago.

He and his wife, Samira Bawumia are among 496 voters at the polling station which is closer to his family house.

The polling station was divided into A and B after the 2012 polls to ease the pressure with the B now containing 484 registered voters.

The Walewale constituency in the Northern Region has a total of 118 polling stations with 64,853 registered voters.

The parliamentary seat is currently being held by the NPP’s Dr Saagre Bambangi. Dr Bambangi is standing unopposed in this year’s election as his opponent, NDC’s Abdallah Abubakari lost his candidacy after being suspended about a month to the elections for breaching his party’s constitution.
