Barclays bank has launched two credit cards as part of measures to improve service to its customers.
According to bank, it launched the cards as a result of a survey it conducted to identify the important needs of its customers.
The cards are the Platinum and Classic credit cards.
Speaking to Citi Business News after the launch, the Product Manager at Barclays Ghana, Prosper Akoto stated that the cards will provide world class services to its customers.
“In our market we don’t have so many credit cards on the markets and the way they are offered is not what the customers want, so we designed this product to satisfy our customer needs because we did some survey and realize what the customers need,” he said.
He pointed out that the survey identified all the needs of customers of the bank and addressed them by the use of the card.
“This credit card is to meet all the needs of the customer segment including the standard personal, the prestige, and the premium customers. We lowered our requirement to make the customers to make the customers satisfied,” he said.
“For instance the income requirement is very minimal compared to what competition is offering we are presently offering the highest amount on our credit cards to our customers because we believe that some of our high network customers need bigger tickets to do their transaction both local and international,” he added.
He stated that the cards will also provide high flexibility to customers with free interest for 55 days.
“We also designed this card to provide some kind of convenience or flexibility and security to our customers who travel outside to transact businesses. The card also allows our customers who travel outside to use it online and then to do POS transactions. It offers the best flexibility in terms of payment, what this means is that customers can do transactions for a period of 55 days interest free payment,” he stressed.
