The thought of a possible victory for the New Patriotic party (NPP) in the coming elections, has continued to deepen the anxiety of most officials, of the incumbent National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Barbara Serwaa Asamoah, has expressed fears over an NPP leadership, saying the party will witch-hunt NDC officials if it comes into power. The Deputy Minister has called for a massive vote for the NDC to remain in power.

Barbara Serwaa Asamoah made this known while speaking at a mini-rally at Gomoa Afransi in the Gomoa Central Constituency on Friday, November 25, as part of Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur’s campaign tour.
The Deputy Minister, speaking in Twi, said that the NPP throughout their eight years in of governance, achieved nothing except prosecuting NDC officials. Like former Minister of Transport, Dzifa Attivor, she feared that the NPP will target NDC officials for prosecution, if given the nod come December.

She also said that the NPP has no plans of effecting the so called change they are have been promising Ghanaians. According to Deputy Minister, the major opposition party only has the intention of “filling their pockets” with public funds.

Ms Asamoah’s comments about NPP witch-hunting NDC officials comes after former Minister of Transport, Dzifa Attivor, expressed similar fears.
Dzifa Attivor while speaking in the Ketu south district in April 2016, feared she might be prosecuted alongside other NDC officials from Ewe, if the NPP wins. She had said that NPP is a tribal party and that it is certain that Ewes will be their target for prosecution, if they win the elections.
The former minister had made reference to the record of the NPP government between 2001 to 2008, where most Ewe ministers were imprisoned. She had referred to the cases of former Deputy Finance Minister Victor Serlomey, who was sentenced for 8 years and former Trade Minister Dan Abodakpi who bagged 10 years, as well as others.
