Chiefs of Atebubu Traditional Council in the Brong Ahafo region have rejected an amount of GHC20,000 as compensation by the Member of Parliament for Atebubu-Amantin constituency, Sanja Nanja.
The money according to Adom News’ Kwabena Manu was meant to compensate the queen mother,Nana Afia Donyin and the entire Traditional Council of Atebubu after the MP for the area insulted her some months ago.
The President of Brong Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs who doubles as the paramount chief of Yeji Nana Pemapem Kabrese V together with the Paramount Chief of Basa Traditional Council, Nana Osabarima Owusu Sakyi II who sent the amount to the chiefs who pleaded on behalf of the embattled MP left the palace of Atebubu Traditional council without any successful outcome.
The Nsumankwaahene of Atebubu Traditional Council, Nana Kofi Amoako in an interview with Adom News’ Kwabena Manu said, the Council will never allow Sanja Nanja to file his nomination form in the name of Atebubu.
He rather called on the leadership of the NDC to nominate a more competent person for the job.
Nana Kofi Amoako warned the embattled MP not to campaign at any town or village which under the Traditional Council.
Some Natives of Atebubu expressed satisfaction at the decision of the Traditional council for taking such decision.
