Chiefs and people of Assin in the Central Region have called on the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to appoint the MP for Assin Central, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, as the Central Regional Minister.
They argued that the Assin Traditional Area which comprises Assin North, South and Central Constituencies have paid their dues to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) which deserves that they are rewarded with a ministerial position.
The Tufuhene of Effutu Akwa Traditional Area in Assin Fosu, Nana Kankam Akomaning, who spoke on behalf of the chiefs and people, told Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene that they are preparing to visit President Akufo-Addo to welcome him and prevail on him to give the area a ministerial appointment.
He claimed people like the NPP’s National Organizer and Acting General Secretary, John Boadu; former General Secretary, Nana Ohene Ntow, and the three MPs from Assin North, South and Central have all paid their dues to the party so they deserve recognition as such.
The Chief explained that President Akufo-Addo has worked with Ken Agyapong and John Boadu so he knows their capabilities.
Meanwhile, Ken Agyapong has indicated that he does not want any ministerial position.
