The Assembly man for Nsawam/Adoagyiri Municipality in the Eastern Region has accused the Member of Parliament for the area, Frank Annor-Dompreh of beating him up for campaigning for President Mahama.
According to Yahuza Tanko, he was touring from one area to the other to canvas votes for President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC when the unfortunate incident happened on Saturday.
He said Mr Annor Dompreh together with his guard who were also on a campaign pounced on him and subjected him to severe beatings.
“On Saturday morning I was on a door-to door campaign canvassing for votes for President Mahama when Annor Dompreh from nowhere together with his body guard pounced on me and beat me mercilessly at a chop bar joint.
“While beating me, he was warning me to stop campaigning for Mahama because it is useless since he claims he won’t win the elections. He even ended up spraying pepper on my face and destroyed my motor bike and other properties for no reason” he narrated on Accra based Okay fm.
The assembly man claimed that the MP and his guard fled the scene and abandoned him in a pool of blood, only for some Good Samaritans to rush to his aid.
Yahuza Tanko indicated that the Good Samaritans took him to a hospital in Nsawam where he was treated and discharged.
The matter he added has been reported to the Nsawam police who have begun investigations into the matter.

However in a quick rebuttal, the MP, Mr Annor Dompreh on the same show denied the allegations leveled against him describing it as a “false claim” just to tarnish his hard earned image.
According to him, the assembly man who defected from the NPP has been trailing him and speaking ill of him and the NPP for lobbying for project for his constituency.
“I have not laid my hands on him and I can swear on that. He is just telling lies to tarnish my reputation. I only advised him to follow the right party and not allow the NDC to deceive him.
“He has been trailing and insulting me and destroying any message I give to the electorates in the constituency and even insulting me openly for lobbying for project for my constituency and so it would help him if he stops destroying my name” he stated.
