Koku Anyidoho, a Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has gone into hiding following the defeat of his party in the just-ended presidential and parliamentary elections, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako, editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide, has said.
According to him, Mr Anyidoho, who, prior to the elections, was abusing and insulting everybody who opposed the NDC, is “hiding in a rat hole in Iraq”.
His comments follow the silence of the former spokesperson of late President Mills after the heavy defeat of the NDC in the elections.
Speaking on Peace FM’s morning show, Kokrokoo, on Wednesday December 14, Mr Baako said: “Koku Anyidoho, who was abusing and insulting everybody all over the place, where is he now? He is hiding in a rat hole in Iraq.”
He further stated that the NDC lost the elections largely because of excessive propaganda.
“They lost the elections because the propaganda was too much, it was a propaganda overkill… That is why you will lose an election, because all you are doing is to tell lies,” he explained.
“With the Montie 3 case, some of us were against their incarceration. As a matter of principle, I wasn’t happy with the incarceration – the custodial sentence, I wished it hadn’t happened. But post that event, to cure that mischief we said a presidential pardon would be a disaster. Mr Sam Okudzeto (a former President of the Ghana Bar Association) said similar things but they (NDC communicators) did not understand the English he used. Ministers of state were signing [a petition for the release of the contemnors] and eventually the pardon came. But the three who were freed, did they show any remorse?
“They skinned some of us apart and they thought that thing had no effect on the middle class who didn’t see that (pardon) as an accountable government or governance. There were videos of some of them (Montie 3) standing at rallies and the things they were saying showed no remorse, no regret for what they had done. Why will the president free the Montie 3 because of politics and you think nobody was going to take notice of that?”
