Some angry short men and women have now decided to join the campaign to unseat President John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The short men and women in a video shown below are seen in the colours of the opposition, New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigorously campaigning for the election of its flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as President of Ghana in the December polls.
The livid men and women claim they were forced to join the campaign of the NPP following statements by leading members of the NDC that sought to mock their stature.
They specifically cited Vice President, Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur and Sports Minister, Nii Lante Vanderpuiye as persons who have made disparaging remarks against them.
The Vice President during a campaign tour to the Eastern Region in September 2016 claimed that there was the need to elevate short persons in the country so they see the achievements of President John Mahama.
His comments followed that of the sports minister who insisted the presidency was not for short people.
However, the short men and women insists they are being attacked because the NDC has no better plans for them.
They claims ‘our brother Nana Addo who they mock as being short would do better for us and hence we are campaigning to ensure that the NDC is defeated.’
“We are many in Ghana, in every region, there are short men there and we are encouraging all of them to vote against NDC and John Mahama they will lose,” one of them said.
