Expectations of Ghanaians are high – a function of the many campaign promises made by then candidate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in 2016.
Contrary to the prediction of political opponents, the President has stated he would deliver on every one of his promises.
Reiterating the commitment of President Akufo-Addo, the Finance Minister said despite the previous government missing a significant number of the 2016 targets set by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the new government will revive the economy.
“I want to assure the international community that we are committed to the extensive credit agreement with the IMF [started by the previous government],” he said.
He also stated that the programmes that would be implemented by the NPP government will unleash the creativity of Ghanaians which will also lead to an improvement in their lives.
“There are exciting times ahead,” he said with a smile drawing cheers from the gathering of Ghana’s Members of Parliament.
“Our country is ready to work again.”
