Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has told the electorate in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency that the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Adwoa Safo, is not responsible for the various development projects in the constituency.
He told voters to disregard claims from certain quarters suggesting Ms Safo constructed the roads, schools, health centres, and markets in the constituency.
The Vice President urged the electorate to re-elect John Mahama to enable him continue his infrastructural development while voting for the NDC’s parliamentary candidate Nurudeen Mohammed.
Mr Amissah-Arthur said this when he addressed a rally of the NDC at the Haatso Yam Market in Accra.
“On my visit here, I hear the MP is constructing the market, the roads, health centres… but when the NDC goes for meetings with the president to think about bringing development to this constituency, we don’t go with her. So, these projects are being constructed by the government. That is why we say vote for Nurudeen, and during such meetings with the president he will be there to bring further development to the constituency,” Mr Amissah-Arthur stated.
The vice president, who inspected the ongoing construction of the Dome market, allayed the fear of traders that government would not allocate them spaces after construction.
He said all the traders would be given a place to sell and trade after construction is completed.
The Chief of Dome, Nii Kwao Obu Abasa II, commended the government for the various developmental projects in the area and urged his people to vote for President Mahama for a second term.
