Adisadel college in cape coast over the weekend held a colourful speech and prize giving day to mark the 107th anniversary of the school.
The event dubbed “the championship event” due to the emergence of the successful feat chalked by the college as winner of the 2016 national math and science quiz was under the theme, “Securing the future of the child through holistic development- the Adisadel college spirit”.
Addressing the students, the headmaster of the college, Mr William Kusi-Yeboah bemoaned inadequate accommodation which saw the college reducing its admission intake drastically.
According to him, stakeholders of the school decided to reduce the intake of fresh students this year due to accommodation challenges coupled with the dissolution of one of the temporal houses.
“We therefore reduce the intake from 920 students last year to 423 this year representing a percentage deduction of 54”, he pointed out.
He added that the situation will remain unchanged until accommodation issues in the school improve.
Mr Kusi-Yeboah indicated that the school now enjoys a serene atmosphere due to the massive crusade to get indiscipline students out of the college.
He added that the college presented 635 candidates for the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) last year and performed massively well and again presented more than 800 for this year.
The headmaster requested for the introduction of technical courses on their curricula to equip students with technical skills for their future perusal.
