Veteran Ghanaian actor and Movie star, George Williams is dead. The actor died Monday morning at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, a close relative confirmed to GhanaStar.com.
In his most recent interview with the media in February, the actor talk about a couple of issues concerning the Ghanaian movie industry. He said, “I’m afraid over the past few years I haven’t watched any Ghanaian movie because of some personal reasons…but I watch Mexican soaps and some few others and I feel very sad when it comes to our own domain to see what pertains there and I feel very sad about it…the standards need to be met… actually I don’t watch Ghanaian movies”,Uncle George told C.o Sly in grief.
Furthermore, the veteran actor emphasised that the Ghanaian movie industry made up of Kumawood and Ghallywood have no standings ,no sequence and only denigrating the industry.
George Williams who has featured in Ghanaian movies like Dogo Yaro,Ultimate Paradise,Mama,Genesis Chapter X,Bloody Kids and many TV series,advised that the only solution to have a successful movie industry is to go through the mill by going to school and learning the trade.
