Five persons died instantly in an accident along the Techiman – Kintampo road involving a ”Neoplan” bus traveling from Bolgatanga to kumasi and a truck carrying tomatoes traveling from Kumasi to Burkina Faso.
The accident occurred at about 4:50am Friday at Tano boasi near Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region when
The driver of the tomato truck with registration number AS 6615-11 died instantly with his mate in critical condition. Four passengers on board the Neoplan Bus with registration number AS 2733 V also died at the spot with several others sustaining various degrees of injuries and responding to treatment at the Holy family hospital in Techiman.
According to an eyewitness report the tomato truck was traveling at a high speed when one of its tires burst thereby running into the Neoplan bus”.
The MTTD boss for Techiman ASP Andrews Okonengye confirmed to Otec news that one of the survivors died upon arrival at the hospital raising the death toll to six.
