The Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has advised Ghanaians not to feel guilty accepting gifts from members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC). He has asked them to feel free to collect the monies and goodies, but still vote against the party in the coming elections.

Speaking at the Bunkpurugu constituency of the Northern Region, Bawumia argued that since the NDC purchased such gifts with monies meant for developing the country, the electorate should feel no guilt in accepting them. He explained that the NDC instead of propagating their message and plans for the people, they rather come with goodies to influence their votes on election day.

Listing out various forms of NDC gifts, he said the party comes with sewing machines, motorbikes, money and so on, to woo residents. Bawumia advised the people to collect everything given to them by the incumbent party, but still vote them out on December 7.

He explained that such monies are originally meant for social and economic infrastructures like schools, roads and the likes; but government has diverted them to frivolous expenses, in its bid to win votes. He urged the people not to fall for the deceit of the ruling party.

Also, the presidential candidate of the NPP Nana Akufo Addo, has told Ghanaians to expect several attempts by President Mahama and his party, to buy their votes with goodies ahead of the December polls.

Nana Addo in one of his addresses said that as election draws closer, the incumbent government will spend a lot of money on freebies to convince the people to vote for the NDC.
