Campaign Coordinator of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Kofi Adams claims controversial hiplife musician Kwame Asare Obeng known in showbiz as A-Plus is a ‘drug addict’.
He claimed the musician who has been critical of the Mahama-led administration does not compose any ‘sensible’ song appealing to the ear because he “sniffs cocaine”.
“NDC does not have time for A-Plus, someone who uses heroine and sniffs cocaine cannot be taken serious” he stated on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Thursday.
The satiric hipelife musician has incurred the wrath of members of the ruling party after releasing his new political song ‘ABEN B3 BOM’.
In the song which has gone viral on social media, A-Plus cited the unbridled corruption and looting of state funds by government appointees, A Plus in the song urged Ghanaians to show the NDC the exist in the December 7 polls.
He also named several NDC members including Kofi Adams who are now billionaires and building mansions overnight when while in opposition they could barely make ends meet.
But Kofi Adams on Ekosii Sen said he is a self-made man with money to building any mansion of his choice.
“I’m a proud teacher and have been working as spokesperson for an ex-president since 2007. I have saved enough to build a house so if A-Plus stops doing drugs, he can also build a house” he fumed.
The NDC National Organizer maintained that most of the lyrics in the song are based on rumours and hearsay and not facts thus must be treated with the contempt it deserves.
Kofi Adams said the NDC is still focused and will not be disrupted by a “nonentity” like A-Plus.
