A headless body of a 75-year-old man has been found on the rail lines of Nkontompo in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Area.
It is believed that the man had gone to the community park at dawn for prayers.
When the GNA got to scene of the incident at about 9am, officials from the Sekondi District Police Command had sent the headless body to the morgue.
Mr Anthony Ephraim, Assemblyman for the area, gave the name of the deceased as Kobina Ackon, a native of Ekumfi Nsafor in the Central Region.
He said the man was a responsible mason and well known in the community, adding that his death came as a huge surprise and shock to the whole community.
Mr Ephraim said the community leadership would meet on the matter and come out with some directives on the matter.
He urged the community to be security conscious and look out for strange people and report them to the opinion leaders.
Madame Mercy Baidoo, a co-tenant to the deceased said she saw him in the house around 1pm of yesterday.
