As Ghana continues to wait for EC’s declaration of election results, more candidates congratulate Nana Addo for emerging winner of the election
The Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo, has said he has received messages of congratulation, from all competing opposition parties, on his imminent win. The NPP Flagbearer has extended his gratitude to Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Mr. Jacob Osei Yeboah, and Dr. Edward Mahama for the said congratulatory messages received.
I’ve received words of congratulation from Mr Greenstreet, Mrs Rawlings, Dr Nduom, Dr Mahama & Mr Yeboah. I thank them. May God bless Ghana
The supposed congratulatory messages, follow results from the various constituency collation centers across the country, which seems to have placed the NPP presidential hopeful in the lead.
Nana Addo has been projected by many political stakeholders to win the 2016 presidential election, although the Electoral Commission is yet to declare the results of the polls. On Thursday, Presidential candidate of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP), Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom, congratulated Akufo-Addo for emerging winner of the 2016 presidential election.
These candidates congratulate Nana Addo, following provisional results from collation centres, declaring the NPP Flagbeaer the winner. Also, Parliamentary candidates of the NPP, have won more seats in the parliament per the provisional results which have been declared at collation centers.
While these projections are being made, the EC has continued to take its time in the collation of results from polling stations across the 275 constituencies in the country.
EC’s long silence and meticulousness however, have agitated a large section of Ghanaians who have run out of patience, waiting for the election results. The Commission have revealed one of the reasons for the delay, to be recent discoveries of over-voting in some polling stations.
Following the recent developments, President Mahama on Friday, attempted to calm the nerves of anxious Ghanaians who cannot wait a minute longer for EC’s declaration. In a social media post, The President urged Ghanaians to allow EC carry out its mandate without interference from the public.
