Chairman of the Executive Assets Sub-committee of the Transitional Team, Ayikio Otoo, has revealed that 234 vehicles have not been accounted for per inventory handed over to them by the past administration.
According to him out of the 707 vehicles associated with the office of the president only 406 were found. This is contrary to claims by the past Mahama-government that the cars were left intact.
“We were able to identify 67 vehicles not listed. If you deduct 67 from the 301 missing vehicles we still have 234 vehicles which could not be accounted for. So the figure that came from Mr Arhin’s office that over 200 [cars were missing] is correct,” he told the media on Thursday, March 16.
The private legal practitioner advised government to set up an asset register to curb such issues in the future.
