The 2016/2017 Ghana Premier League has been slated to begin on Saturday, February 4, 2017, 3news.com has gathered.
This will be barely two weeks after the local football season opens with the Super Cup between Wa All Stars, the elite league champions, and Bechem United, winners of the FA Cup.
The second-tier club competition, the Division One League, will also kick off on February 3.
These were disclosed by President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Kwesi Nyantakyi at the start of the Association’s Extraordinary Congress in Accra on Wednesday, January 4.
A football gala for 2016/2017 Premier League clubs will also be held on January 28 and 29 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium to herald the league.
Elmina Sharks, Bolgatanga All Stars and Great Olympics are the new entrants to the 2016/2017 Premier League.
