The vice presidential nominee of the United Front Party (UFP), David Esie Bonya, says he is no longer interested in becoming Ghana’s Vice President but will rather dedicate his time to a road safety campaign.
“What I am doing now I feel it is better than to spend much time with [my flagbearer] again,” he said on Monday, November 7 on TV3‘s News 360.
UFP’s flagbearer Nana Agyenim Boateng was among the 12 presidential nominees disqualified by the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) on Monday, October 10.
The decision seems to have crushed dreams of some members of the party especially the vice presidential candidate.
The new road safety advocate said: “I feel it is difficult to be litigating in our modern Ghana”.
He says he received the blessings of Nana Agyenim Boateng.
He said over the years he has been an advocate of road safety and has had a certificate of approval from the National Road Safety Commission.
He began his nationwide campaign tour from Monday, November 7.
He is expected to interact with security agencies, MMDAs, the media, the youth, opinion leaders, transport unions and political parties.
