The Brong Ahafo Regional Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has claimed that the Regional Youth Organizer of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, also known as Abronye DC has criminal record and hence its unfit to be called a Citizen Vigilante.
According to Mohammed Seidu, such a ‘discredited person’ does not deserve to be hailed as citizen vigilante by Ghanaians.
Mohammed Seidu made the comment while reacting to allegations that he had stolen some tractors belonging to the Sunyani Municipal Assembly.
Kwame Baffoe together with the police in the Brong Ahafo region went to the location where the over 15 tractors had been packed and retrieved them for the assembly.
Abronye DC however accused the NDC Regional Organizer of renting out the tractors and pocketing the money instead of giving it to the Assembly.
But Mohammed Seidu on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday called the bluff of Abronye DC.
He indicated that someone who was arrested for defrauding a woman of an unspecified amount of money under the pretext of selling a parcel of land to her does not deserve the title.
Mohammed Seidu added that the loud-mouthed politician upon his arrest faked sickness and hence was admitted to the hospital upon arrival and received treatment in handcuff and under police surveillance.
But for the intervention of some NDC friends who bailed him out, he said the NPP Youth Organizer would have been languishing in jail.
“You [Ghanaians] are the ones hailing Abronye; all over Brong Ahafo everyone knows he is a criminal. He cannot be a citizen vigilante,” he fumed.
In a rebuttal, Kwame Baffoe described as laughable the allegations being made by the NDC Regional Organizer.
He explained that, though he was arrested Thursday, August 20, 2015 over a land issue, a Fiapre Circuit Court acquitted and discharged him when he provide the necessary documents.
The land in contention, the NPP man noted is being developed and the lady who made the allegations has rendered an unqualified apology to him for denigrating his image.
He further stated unequivocally that he will still be a citizen vigilante and retrieve all stolen government vehicles for the state.
