We will pay allowances to reflect increments – NSS
The Management of the National Service Scheme has debunked widespread speculations that the new administration has decided not to approve the increment of personnel allowances and urged the general public to disregard such claims.
There were reports that the Nana Akufo-Addo led-government was not bent on paying the 60% increment in allowance of National Service personnel across the country despite the announcement by his predecessor before heading out of office.
But head of public relations at the national service secretariat, Ambrobrose Entsiwah Jnr in an interview with otecfmghana says the reports are false and must be disregarded by the national service personnel and the general public.
He explained that the said increment which was announced on 14th December, 2016 was not captured by the November, 2016 supplementary budget but the new administration is seriously making inputs into the March, 2017 national budget being prepared by the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning.
He assured the general public and personnel of the scheme of managements committment to the wellbeing of National Service Personnel and called for calm as they work tirelessly to address the issues.
Ambrobrose Entsiwah Jnr , assured all service personnel that Management will initiate the payment of allowances to reflect any increment initially agreed upon, once the adjustment of allowances is captured in the soon to be read budget.
