Former Member of Parliament for Ahafo-Ano South, Stephen Balado Manu has debunked claims by MP for Bawku Central, Mahama Ayariga that parliamentary committees receive allowances during sittings.

Mr Balado Manu who was a Member of Parliament for 16 years, noted that it is not possible for sitting allowances to be paid when committees have not finished their work.

In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Stephen Balado Manu added that he served on different committees during his time as a MP and that no allowance was paid during committees sittings.

According to Ballado Manu, he is disappointed since such an allegation is coming from an experienced Member of Parliament like Mahama Ayariga who knows the proceedings of Parliament.

“ I can consider Alhassan Suhuyini since he is new to parliament, but for a person like Mahama Ayariga it’s a no for me,” he reiterated.
