THE principal Councillors, elders and heads of the five (5) of the seven families of Abehenase of Amasaman in the Greater Accra has issued a strong warning to all state agencies and the general public to stop dealing with one Mr. Isaac Kotey Neequaye who is parading himself as Chief of Abehenease under a stool name Obrempong Nii Kotey Susubribi.
According to the families, Mr. Kotey Neequaye is not the Chief of Abehenease and cannot be Chief of Abehenase under the Asere Stool, now or in the future.
The warning is contained in a press release issued and signed by five of the heads of the seven families of Abehenase namely: Nii Lankai Lamptey, Attoney for Nii Teiko Ansah – family, Emmanuel Dzatei Abbey of Ama Asor -family, Daniel Aryee of Nii Chereku – family, Solomon Otto-Darko from Awo Obemah Ama – family, Mrs Rebecca Ayorkor Lamptey acting Head of Nii Odoi Kwao – family and the Acting Mantse and Dzasetse of Abehenease, Nii Okai Mensah I.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Today, the Acting Mantse and Dzasetse of Abehenease, Nii Okai Mensah explained further that the self- styled chief has been dragged to Arbitration Committee of the Asere Stool to explain to the Committee why he (Mr. Kotey Neequaye) is parading himself as Chief of Abehenase.
“Currently there is a strong worded petition against him (Mr. Kotey Neequaye) challenging his status as a chief and that petition is pending before the Arbitration Committee of the Asere Stool awaiting judgement,” Nii Okai Mensah reiterated.
He insisted that the Mantse (Chief) position of Abehenease is the exclusive prerogative of Mantse Nii Teiko Ansah of Frimpong We segment under the Asere Stool.
“I can tell you without any shred of doubt that none of the seven family heads has enstooled Mr Isaac Kotey Neequaye as a Chief of Abehenase under a stool name Obrempong Nii Kotey Susubribi so he cannot be a chief” the Acting Mantse and Dzasetse of Abehenease added.
“I will like to state categorically and without any equivocation that Mr. Neequaye is not the Chief of Abehenease and that all should discarded his claim of being the Chief of Abehenease” he added.
