The Police Administration in Ghana has announced that it dismissed 106 officers for misconduct, while 294 others were given various sanctions for misconduct last year and this year.
The Ghanaian Times newspaper report on Friday said the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Mohammed Alhassan, disclosed this in Accra when he cut the sod for the commencement of work on an ultra-modern police facility in Accra on Thursday.
The report added that the Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS) Directorate would benefit from the facility to enhance professionalism in the Ghana Police Service.
According to the report, the IGP noted that the police attached importance to professional conduct and would not spare officers who compromised the integrity of the police.
