Zimbabwean top-flight side Ngezi Platinum Stars have signed former Berkeum Chelsea striker Stephen Owusu Kaakyire, GHANASoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.
The 23-year-old, who played in the Division One League last season, impressed coach Tonderai Ndiraya after a two-week trial session.
His deal was facilitated by United Kingdom-based player agent Joe Mhondiwa.
Owusu is currently in Ghana while his work permit is being processed and he is expected back in the country next week in time for the unveiling.
”They sent us his videos and then we invited him for trials. He was here for two weeks for assessment and we are happy with what we saw,” Ndiraya said.
”He is good aerially, something that we have been missing. He was playing for Berekum Chelsea in 2016 and went for trials in Oman.
”I am told the deal failed to materialise and by the time he returned to Ghana, the transfer window had closed, and that’s how he ended up playing in Division One.”
Owusu played for Unity FC last season where he emerged top-scorer in Zone I with 11 goals.
